Food Pantry Leadership

  • Naseer Irfan

    Executive Director

    Naseer Irfan is a Supply Chain veteran in the networking industry. He has worked for Apple, Brocade, and most recently Juniper Networks as a Product Lifecycle Manager where he manages high volume switches portfolio in Automated Intelligence Date Enterprise division.

    In 2016, he established a Just-In-Time food pantry model in Fremont to assist families and individuals facing food insecurity. Over the past 7 years, Salaam Food Pantry has expanded into supporting many focused programs for families residing in the Alameda County.

    He holds a BS in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and lives with his supportive wife along with three healthy teenagers.

  • Samreen Suleman

    Co-Founder

    Samreen has been the backbone of Salaam Food Pantry from its early inception days. Over the past 5 years, she has streamlined many processes with food distribution. She created a network of parent and youth volunteers for sustainable support and leads many other initiatives in the organization.

  • Sakib Mehasanewala

    Sakib Mehasanewala has been part of the Irvington Community since 2012. He has been in various engineering leadership roles in bay area tech companies like Intuit, SAP and currently is in Splunk as an Engineering Director. He has been an active volunteer in various local community events and has been part of Salaam Food Pantry since its early days.

    Sakib holds a BS in Computer Science from India and currently lives in Fremont with his wife and 1 energetic preschooler boy.

  • Kamran Karimi

    Kamran Kirmani is a long-time member of the local community and has been involved as a volunteer in several local initiatives and events. He has been part of the Salaam Food Pantry volunteer group since 2018. Kamran is a CPA, with a Big 4 accounting firm background. His practice is focused on SOX consulting and financial planning and reporting for startups. He holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from University of Missouri.

    He resides locally and loves to hang out with his daughters.

  • Ahmed Samiuddin

    Ahmed Samiuddin is a passionate advocate for social service and community empowerment with over 20 years of experience in the information technology field. And is currently serving in a leadership role at Seagate Technology.

    Ahmed Samiuddin and his family are also committed to giving back to the community and have volunteered extensively with non-profit organizations over the years.

    Ahmed is a proud parent of an Eagle Scout. His son completed an Eagle rank at the age of 13 years. As a volunteer leader in the Boy Scouts of America, Ahmed has played a crucial role in guiding and mentoring young people. He led outdoor activities such as camping and hiking and has encouraged Scouts to take on challenges that have helped them build character and resilience. He has also facilitated community service projects that have helped Scouts learn the importance of giving back to their communities.

    I am excited about the opportunity to work alongside the other board members, staff, and volunteers at Salaam Food Pantry to make a positive impact in the community. Together, we can help ensure that all individuals and families have access to nutritious food and the resources they need to thrive.

    Ahmed Samiuddin enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, biking, and boating. He is a proud parent of three children and is committed to creating a better future for their family and the community as a whole.

    Senior Volunteer Lead

    My name is Ambareen Vajeehullah. I have dedicated 10 years of time to a cause that I am very passionate about which is serving my community. I have worked as a teacher for a period of 3 years . I have served in scouting and still continue to do so. I have served Salaam Food Pantry from the very beginning it started and it has grown immensely over the years for the services it provides. I am very fortunate to be part of this community and got many chances to give back .

    Senior Volunteer Lead

    Volunteering has always been Veronica's passion. She enjoys helping those in need. She first joined Salaam Food Pantry during the start of the pandemic. This was a blessing for her as she made friends with many incredible individuals. She looks forward to many more years with Salaam Food Pantry.

    Alice is retired from 30+ years working at various high tech companies in the Silicon Valley. She spends time volunteering at several food pantries and non- profit organizations in the Tri-Cities area.

    Mufti Mudassir Owais is a well established leader and resident scholar in Fremont. He mentors and coaches running non-profit organizations effectively. He resides with his family in Fremont.
