Continuing our heartwarming tradition, Salaam Food Pantry served 70 underserved and vulnerable families in Fremont, providing each with a halal turkey along with a $100 gift card compatible with major grocery stores. Throughout Monday and Tuesday (November 24-25), volunteers packed and distributed the Thanksgiving bundles at the pantry, turning the space into a hub of warmth and care just days before the holiday
Every year, Cub Scouts across the country participate in Scouting for Food, a national service project by Scouts of America where scouts collect non-perishable goods from neighbors to support local families. This year, Cub Scout Pack 786 chose Salaam Food Pantry as their drop-off site, bringing in 400 donated non-perishable food items gathered from the Milpitas community.

On August 2nd at Irvington Masjid, the sound of laughter and children’s excitement filled the air as families lined up for this year’s Back2School Event. Partnering with ICNA Relief, Salaam Food Pantry hosted a lively two-hour event where over 200 backpacks filled with essential school supplies were distributed to students preparing for the upcoming academic year.
In a meaningful initiative to promote public health and well-being, a dental hygiene kit drive was organized to collect essential oral care products—including toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash—to support underserved families in the Tri-City Area through Salaam Food Pantry.

On December 14th, Milpitas’s Cub Scout Pack 786 brought an abundance of generosity to the Salaam Food Pantry. With 11 scouts and 10 dedicated adults, the group delivered an impressive 400 pounds of food—collected themselves—including canned goods, pasta, flour, and snacks.
On November 23rd, Peace Terrace Academy, a private Islamic school hosted a Winter Blanket Drive to bring warmth and comfort for the upcoming winter season. The drive was held at Peace Terrace Academy in Fremont from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It proved to be a success, with the community donating over 300 brand-new blankets for adults and children.
On November 25th, Salaam Food Pantry brought the true spirit of Thanksgiving to over 35 underserved families in Irvington through a heartfelt community initiative. Volunteers hand-delivered 70 Thanksgiving bags to ensure that each family had everything they needed for a warm and festive holiday meal. Each family received two thoughtfully prepared bags: one containing a fresh halal turkey and the other packed with essential ingredients to create traditional Thanksgiving meals.

In a heartwarming collaboration, Family Giving Tree donated 110 backpacks to the Salaam Food Pantry, ensuring that students within the Fremont community are equipped and ready for school this year. These backpacks, filled with essential and thoughtfully selected supplies, were distributed by age and grade to support local families as they prepare for the upcoming academic year.
On August 3rd, 2024, ICNA Relief, in collaboration with Salaam Food Pantry, held its annual Back2School Event. From 11 am to 1 pm, volunteers gathered to distribute free backpacks with school supplies, candies, clothes, and food to help students in need prepare for the upcoming school year.
In the heart of Fremont, a community-driven initiative is making a tangible difference for the unhoused residents of Alameda County. In January of 2023, Salaam Food Pantry (SFP), in collaboration with Bay Area Community Health (BACH), launched the ‘Snack Packs for Unhoused Folks’ program to provide vital nourishment for those in need. This endeavor highlights SFP’s commitment to meeting the diverse needs of Fremont’s community.
In February of 2024, Salaam Food Pantry received a donation of 42 used Dell Intel i7 laptops from Seagate for economically disadvantaged families, students pursuing online education, and individuals seeking employment. Ahmed Samiuddin, the IT Director at Seagate Technology spearheaded this initiative and shares his story.
